Cables are designed for internal and external cabinets where there is a need for ruggedness and low frequency data transmission ranges.
Header secures wires onboard
2mm latch/eject header provides a robust system solution when mated with 3M IDC 1522 series sockets and 3M 2mm moulded assemblies series.
The new 3M DDM series is a hybrid of two existing 3M product families, the 82XX/83XX D subs for flat cables and CHG wire mount sockets for discrete wires.
This means 3M can now offer its customers D subs for both flat and for round (discrete) cables.
The 3M DDM series is available as socket and plug connectors with pin counts of 9, 15, 25 and 37.
Additionally, there are two different connectors per pin count, one for 20-22AWG, the other one for 24-30AWG.
Therefore this connector can carry up to 7A per line using 20AWG wire.
The DDM also provides excellent EMI/ESD protection and the series is rated to 200 insertions/withdrawals.
3M DDM connectors are assembled with a hand pistol for small runs (which makes them ideal for field application) or with a bench unit for mass production.
No assembly nests or platens are needed therefore reduced labour time and ease of assembly ensures low applied cost.
The notch suits all 3M DDM.
Together with the 3M DDM connectors, two new shells have been released.
One shell has thumbscrews as special feature and the other has three exits available (the two unused exits can be closed off with caps).
The existing 3M D subs for flat cable also suit the new shells; additionally the existing three D sub shells also fit the new DDM connectors.
Therefore 3M are able to offer customers five different shell options.
