Workshop gives complete picture on CE.NET 5.0
A UK-based workshop will give embedded software development engineers hands-on experience in running the new 5.0 release of Windows CE.NET on next generation processors.
The group aims to counter the situation where UK SMEs do not have a strong enough representation or voice in comparison to academia or large companies regarding conveying the issues facing them.
"Many other non-SME organisations always seem to be too quick to speak on behalf of SMEs", said Rob Santilli, Marketing Director of Applied Microengineering (AML) and founder of MUST.
Members at the meeting in Oxford that agreed to join the group were: Paul O'Brien of Nanoco; Neville Freeman of Far Field Sensors; Mike Petty of Loughborough Surface Analysis; David Gahan of Oxsensis; Rob Santilli of AML; Ron Lawes of MiniFab; John Saffell of Alphasense; Alan Finlay of Microsaic; Chris Aitken of Scientific Vacuum Systems; John Sweet of Loadpoint; Malcolm Gower of Exitech; and Peter Gorniak of SemeFab.
AML has instigated and agreed to initially lead the group and get it off the ground.
When sufficient support is collected against a particular issue affecting SMEs in MNT, a document will be drawn up signed by the particular members of the group supporting the issue, which will then be sent to the appropriate authority, such as the UK Government, the Press, the European Commission, Semi etc.
