Murata lowers DC resistance of Emifil beads

Murata has enhanced its high-performance Emifil chip ferrite beads to help designers save power and space in portable equipment designs.

Ceramic materials and process technologies have allowed Murata to lower the DC resistance of its chip ferrite beads by up to 60 per cent, increasing rated current to create the BLM15AX_SN series.

Compared with their BLM15AG_SN predecessors, the BLM15AX_SN series has DC resistance as low as 0.02um, a reduction of 60 per cent.

Corresponding maximum rated current has increased from 1,000 to 1,740mA.

The series comes in 0402-size packaging (1 x 0.5 x 0.5mm), for designers seeking to reduce board space without performance degradation.

Low DC resistance also helps reduce power consumption for battery-powered applications.

The wide impedance line-up ranges from 10 to 1,000um.

Operating temperature range is -55 to +125C.
