In response to the demand for rugged outdoor wireless connectivity, MaxStream has released the 1W 9XTend-NEMA.

The NEMA 4 rated enclosure allows the award winning 9XTend RF modem to be used in harsh environments.

The 9XTend-NEMA is resistant to most weather conditions, including rain, snow, ice, dust and wind.

This protection is especially attractive for applications such as Scada, electronic signs and fleet management that constantly deal with electronic devices operating in fluctuating outdoor climates.

With the choice of either a dipole antenna inside the enclosure or the ability to place the 9XTend-NEMA in closer proximity to an external high gain antenna, integrators are able to substantially reduce the RF loss that occurs when running a long cable from an outdoor antenna to a modem placed indoors.

This advantage maximises the operating range of the modem.

The 900MHz 9XTend-NEMA incorporates 9XTend RF modem technology, which features a wireless module operating at 1W output power, for ranges up to 64km line-of-sight with a high-gain antenna.

The 9XTend also uses 256bit AES encryption and sophisticated interference immunity, ensuring secure and reliable communication.

The 9XTend-NEMA features a 9XTend RF module, RS232/485 interface and the option of either an internally housed dipole antenna or an external antenna (via an RPTNC connection).

The enclosure includes a bracket that allows for easy attachment to most surfaces.
