High-precision audio and vibration measurements
For the first time on the PXI platform, engineers can make precision audio and vibration measurements with the National Instruments NI4472.
Modules condition a range of sensor signals
National Instruments has released new Signal Conditioning Component modules for frequency to voltage conversion, integrated circuit piezoelectric accelerometers and RTDs.
With the products, engineers and scientists can use a PC instead of an embedded computer to control their VXI modules - reducing overall system cost.
Also, by using the VXI-PCI8340 Series of products, engineers and scientists can upgrade their PCs at any time to capitalise on the latest technology while using the same high-speed VXIbus interface.
In addition, the VXI-PCI8340 Series products easily integrate with new system architectures, such as PXI, to provide engineers and scientists with more flexibility in their VXI systems.
In fact, engineers and scientists can use the products either to easily extend their desktop computer to a VXI mainframe, to connect a PXI system to a VXI mainframe, or to quickly link multiple VXI mainframes using the high-speed MXI-3 bus.
The products include the option of flexible copper or long-distance fibre-optic cabling.
The highly flexible copper link is up to 10m long and is useful for high-speed remote control of VXI, when flexibility of the connecting cable is important.
The fibre-optic cable is up to 200m long and is ideal for test environments that require electrical isolation when linking the PC to the VXI mainframe or when linking multiple VXI mainframes.
Additionally, engineers and scientists can take advantage of the thin, flexible cabling for deployment in hazardous or hard-to-access areas.
The VXI-PCI8340 Series of products feature VXI plug and play compliant, integrated software, including interactive tools for troubleshooting and debugging VXI systems.
With the comprehensive NI-VXI/NI-VISA software and programming libraries, engineers and scientists can program multiple mainframe configurations yet maintain software compatibility across a variety of VXI controller platforms. Request a free brochure from National Instruments ...
