Derek Boyd, CEO of NMI said: "We have seen overwhelming support for our mission to maintain the UK as a great place for microelectronics and we work hard to help stimulate innovation and improve productivity - both of which are valuable sources of sustainable competitive advantage".
"We have witnessed strong demand and interest in our business and technical network activities and it's clear from the feedback and membership growth that we're doing the right things".
NMI has run UK wide meetings at a rate in excess of one per month in focussed aspects of design and manufacturing covering analogue and digital design, design for manufacturing and manufacturing excellence.
Plans have also been unveiled to further expand and build on these networks by exploring more business and market focussed events.
The broader UK electronics industry recently welcomed the news that Government is making funds available for a Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN), and Boyd highlighted the need for closer collaboration between organisations within the UK including the trade bodies.
NMI confirmed its plans to work with partner organisations to place an expression of interest with the DTI to run the KTN.
Rounding out the AGM Boyd noted: "Innovation is key to the success of the UK and we'll be playing our part to support and create the right conditions for information to flow and innovation to take place".
