"The Alliance provides a tremendous platform for reviewing the common problems and opportunities faced by all sectors of the electronics community not just microelectronics - and there's a real power to its collective voice".
The Alliance successfully co-ordinated the proposal for the creation of the Electronics KTN.
Subsequently approved by the DTI, the Network launches in May 2007 with the assurance of GBP 3 million of funding over 3 years.
Boyd continued: "The Electronics KTN is just the first of what we hope will be many major achievements by the UKEA.

"We will be recruiting an Alliance Executive in the very near future to help us drive forward this and other key initiatives".
Boyd's first job as Chairman was to welcome EMCIA as a new member of the Alliance.
