A National Microelectronics Institute product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Nov 5, 2007

Free service to provide straightforward information and advice tailored to meet the specific needs of the semiconductor sector.

The UK National Microelectronics Institute has introduced a free legal assistance service for its members.

The service will be provided through Manches, a commercial law firm specialising in technology and intellectual property work.

Members using the service will have access to legal checklists and standard legal documents covering a wide range of industry specific topics and a legal helpline via a dedicated telephone number and e-mail address.

In its basic form, the helpline will allow members to contact Manches free of charge to raise legal queries and receive guidance on issues to consider and courses of action.

John Moor, Director of Marketing at NMI: "By its nature the semiconductor industry yields its own critical set of legal issues: nondisclosure, IP strategy and distributor agreements to name but a few".

"Our collaboration with Manches will provide NMI members large and small with more confidence to tackle such issues head on".

Jonathan Oddy, Technology Partner at Manches said: "Our broad experience in technology and intellectual property means we are well placed to offer a legal assistance service to the NMI and its members".

"It is our aim to provide straightforward information and advice that is as tailored as possible to meet the specific needs of the semiconductor sector".
