With 20 tightly coupled channels integrated into a Xilinx FPGA network, this 14bit ADC motherboard provides high-performance analogue-to-digital data conversion on a cPCI platform.
Each of the 20 ADCs operates at up to 80Msample/s and supports either a single-ended or differential analogue input.
The flexibility of a total of seven Xilinx FPGAs on the Benadic is further enhanced by a vast communications structure.
Each FPGA contains a 128Mbyte bank of SDRAM that allows storage of digitised data from each of the ADCs.
The Benadic motherboard is fully compatible with the Benera allowing users to utilise the full power of Nallatech's DIME-II modular family of products.
The easy-to-use configuration software provided with the Benadic facilitates control and configuration of user designs to six Xilinx Virtex-E FPGAs, while one Virtex FPGA (V600) comes pre-figured with the Xilinx LogiCORE PCI64 interface through the PCI/board control firmware.
According to Allan Cantle, CEO of Nallatech: " The Benadic is the world's first product to tightly integrate 20 ADC channels on a single cPCI card and is ideally suited for use in today's technologies that require multichannel processing, including beam-forming and smart antenna arrays".
