A new PCI motherboard with Virtex-II and three Dime-II slots offers teraOPS performance for next generation reconfigurable computing.

Nallatech's first full-length Dime-II PCI card, the BenNuey, harnesses the power of the Xilinx Virtex-II family and provides complete access to the power and flexibility of Nallatech's Dime-II modular systems platform to give TeraOPS performance for advanced FPGAs Typical applications for the BenNuey include DSP and image processing and high-performance systems design

The BenNuey features two Xilinx FPGAs: the Virtex-II User FPGA is available exclusively for user designs while the Spartan-II is supplied preconfigured with firmware for PCI interfacing and board control, abstracting the PCI interfacing from the user, which gives a simplified design process for user designs and applications.

With three Dime-II module slots, the BenNuey also provides flexible expansion capability, including interfacing and processing modules such as the BenBlue-II.

For example, the BenNuey with three BenBlue-IIs offers a total of seven Virtex XC2V 8000s which gives a total of 56 million gates on a single card.

According to Dr Malachy Devlin, CTO, Nallatech, "The BenNuey has been designed with high levels of interconnectivity between FPGAs and the Dime module slots to allow users to develop high-performance systems quickly and efficiently.

With three Dime-II expansion slots, developers can now construct full custom FPGA-based systems using standard products".
