Research to focus on military signal
processing
Nallatech has won a six-figure research contract from BAe Systems for the new Defence Technology Centre on Electromagnetic Remote Sensing.
Nallatech has won a six-figure research contract from BAe Systems for the new Defence Technology Centre (DTC) on Electromagnetic Remote Sensing (EMRS) which was officially launched by Defence Procurement Minister Lord Bach in July BAE Systems Avionics Group is heading up the GBP 15 million three-year DTC deal to carry out blue sky research for the Ministry of Defence aimed at enhancing both performance of sensing equipment and cost effectiveness

Other members of the EMRS DTC Consortium are Thales Defence UK, Roke Manor Research and Filtronic with corporate research centres, universities and companies such as Nallatech acting as science providers.
Nallatech has been asked by the Electromagnetic Remote Sensing Defence Technology Centre to research and develop next generation reconfigurable hardware architectures that lead from rapid prototype to in-service equipment with the fewest possible steps and hence potential errors.
The focus of the research is to meet the challenging data processing requirements of current and next generation electromagnetic sensors.
Nallatech's extensive experience in FPGA and digital signal processing technology has been a key factor in winning the contract.
