Nallatech has a new range of high-performance FPGA computing platforms based on the Xilinx Virtex-II Pro FPGA.

Nallatech has a new range of high-performance FPGA computing platforms based on the Xilinx Virtex-II Pro FPGA The new additions to the Dime-II family will initially comprise the BenVME motherboard, the BenNuey-PCI-4E full-length PCI motherboard and the BenData-II daughtercard

Designers using the new range will be able to call on unparalleled performance density, with up to four Virtex-II Pro FPGAs, three 2VP100s and one 2VP50, on a single VME or PCI card.

This provides the designer with over 350,000 logic cells, 1564 embedded multipliers and 28Mbit of block RAM.

High-bandwidth card to card communications, multiple Gigabit Ethernet interfaces together with support for other communications links such as Infiniband and Fibrechannel are included on the boards making them ideal for algorithmically intensive real time data capture and manipulation applications, such as image recognition or real-time encryption.

The BenVME motherboard and the BenNuey-PCI-4E motherboard are architecturally almost identical.

Both house Virtex-II Pro FPGAs available exclusively for user applications; both have three daughter card slots with high bandwidth inter slot communications; system level clocking features and on board memory are also replicated across both platforms.

The BenData-II daughtercard combines support for the largest Virtex-II Pro FPGAs with ZBT SRAM for ultra-high-speed access and DDR SDRAM for high-speed access with increased depth, to provide a scalable performance upgrade path for the two motherboards.

Four Rocket I/O channels provide external interfacing and high-density connectors deliver gigabit bandwidth to adjacent FPGAs in the system.

The BenNuey-PCI-4E will be available from the end of April 2004 and the BenVME and BenData-II will be available in Q3 2004.
