Thaler uses National's reference to better effect
Thaler has delivered the world's highest precision bandgap voltage reference as a result of testing and calibrating National Semiconductor's voltage reference technology.
Thaler has delivered the world's highest precision bandgap voltage reference as a result of testing and calibrating National Semiconductor's voltage reference technology.
With 0.05% accuracy and guaranteed temperature coefficients to 1.0ppm/C, the new solution from Thaler enables advanced applications for industrial and portable measurement systems.
Combining National's industry-leading LM4140 voltage reference with Thaler's testing and calibration capabilities gives designers a competitive edge in applications that require ultra-high precision and low noise such as instrumentation, test equipment and portable devices.
The ultra low temperature coefficient is ideal for handheld equipment to ensure accuracy over temperature.
"We are delighted to partner with National to extend their leading voltage reference technology to our mutual customers", said Doug Moore, marketing manager at Thaler.
"National's LM4140 is the first low noise bandgap reference that also offers low initial error and temperature coefficient.
Through our alliance, customers will benefit from the unique combination of National's design expertise, strength in manufacturing and on-time delivery with Thaler's core competency in precision test and trim algorithms".
Introduced last autumn, National's LM4140 is the industry's first sub-bandgap (1.024V) series voltage reference, offering 0.1% accuracy and 3ppm/C.
With Thaler's testing and calibration, the VRE4100 series, now available from Thaler, is capable of supporting 0.05% accuracy and an array of standard tempcos of 1 and 2 ppm/C for the commercial temperature range and 3 ppm/C for the industrial temperature range.
"Thaler's selection of our voltage reference helps extend our reach to customers and strengthens our leading position in the voltage reference market", said Maria Laughlin, marketing manager of Power Management group at National Semiconductor.
"Our partnership with Thaler enables us to highlight the full abilities of National's reference family without adding specialised testing".
