National Semiconductor's Geode technology has been designed into the powerful new NextVision N210 video processor from ViewSonic.
The ViewSonic NextVision N210 video processor takes any ViewSonic display and transforms it into a wireless MPEG smart client.
In addition, the N210 provides remote wireless access to a user's desktop.
The ViewSonic N210 is powered by Microsoft Windows CE.NET as well as National Semiconductor's latest Geode SC1100 processor.
The SC1100 includes a Geode GX1 32bit x86 compatible processor module, core logic and a super I/O block.
All these features, combined with small form factor and low power consumption, result in an ideal choice for devices requiring ultra-high-resolution graphics.
The Geode processor is housed in a thermally enhanced plastic ball grid array (TEPBGA) package for optimal performance and power consumption at the most attractive price.
"National Semiconductor's Geode technology continues to drive the emerging wireless remote display market with its unmatched level of performance, power consumption and price", said Michael Polacek, Vice President of the Information Appliance business division at National Semiconductor.
"We're excited to be working with a leader in this field like ViewSonic".
"ViewSonic's relationship with National Semiconductor has been a positive factor in our ability to push the envelope on design and performance of our display products", said Jakob Kishon, Vice President of Advanced System Technology, ViewSonic.
"National's Geode technology and broad array of products allows us to use the optimal part for the right application".
