Speedy access to programmable
oscillators
A new family of programmable crystal clock oscillators use phase-locked-loop technology to cover a frequency range from 1.0 to 181MHz.
A new family of programmable crystal clock oscillators (XOs) use phase-locked-loop technology to cover a frequency range from 1.0 to 181MHz NDK's frequency writing technology allows standard units to be tuned, by NDK's design centres (located in North America, Asia and Europe), to the required frequency very quickly

Low jitter from crystal oscillator
The 7311S series is a crystal oscillator (XO) for datacomms and SAN systems that operate at high frequencies and require a low-jitter timing source.
Guide aids frequency device selection
NDK has published a new 12-page selection guide outlining its complete line of products, including VCXOs, TCXOs, OCXOs, XOs, crystal filters, SAW devices and crystals.
The 2775Y, 2775W and 2785V series XOs are ideal for new product development where in-circuit testing with the proper frequency crystal oscillators is required while a more exact oscillator is developed for production.
They can also be used for smaller production runs that would not warrant the development of a special XO.
The programmable XOs are supplied in miniature, hermetically sealed, 4-pad, SMD packages measuring just 5.0 x 3.2mm with a thickness of only 1.0mm.
The standard frequency stability is +/-100ppm from -20 to +70C, with an option available for +/-50ppm from -10 to +70C.
All the products have a tristate standby function.
Delivered on an embossed carrier tape, trays, or bulk the devices are lead-free and meet the requirements of re-flow profiling using lead-free solder.
The 2775Y series operates from a supply voltage of +3.3V DC while consuming 15-30mA maximum (frequency dependent) and 30uA maximum in standby, and delivers a CMOS output level.
The 2775W series operates from a supply voltage of +5V DC while consuming 25-50mA maximum (frequency dependent) and 50uA maximum in standby, and delivers a CMOS output level.
The 2785V series operates from a supply voltage of +5V DC while consuming 25-50mA maximum (frequency dependent) and 50uA maximum in standby, and delivers a TTL output level.
"Time to market pressure is tremendous in the electronics industry".
"These programmable clock oscillators help shorten the lead time in the prototyping stage and also deliver a competitive cost alternative for low volume production applications", said Mike Walczak, President, NDK America.
Cost for these programmable XOs are under $5.00 each in 10-piece quantities.
Lead-time is 1-2 days.
