Synthesizer sets frequency for
base-stations
NDK has developed a high performance, ultra low phase noise frequency synthesizer.
The S430M830MA provides a high quality frequency source for terrestrial digital video broadcast base-stations, 3.5G/4G cellular base-stations, and trunk radio base-stations The device offers very flexible design-in options with the frequency being adjustable in 1Hz increments from 430MHz to 830MHz and frequency stability of +/-0.1ppm

Low jitter from crystal oscillator
The 7311S series is a crystal oscillator (XO) for datacomms and SAN systems that operate at high frequencies and require a low-jitter timing source.
Ultra low phase noise (-95dBc/Hz at 100Hz) meeting DVB-T, standards is realised through the utilisation of NDK's low noise OCXO and advanced digital signal processing PLL circuit.
Low spurious emission of -70dBc is delivered through NDK's original frequency mixing technology.
High reliability is guaranteed by the single PLL circuit simplification.
The S430M830MA features a self-diagnostic and frequency setting/status monitoring function with an optional high accuracy, soft PLL circuit synchronisation to an external standard signal.
The unit measures 100 x 39 x 122mm and operates in a temperature range of -20 to +55C.
Interface is through an SMA-F connector and control signals through a D-Sub, 9-pin connector.
"The popularity of digital television has spurred the need for additional transmit/receive base-stations".
"The 1Hz adjustable frequency output flexibility makes this frequency synthesiser adaptable to many applications", said Mike Walczak, President, NDK America.
Delivery for the S430M830MA will begin in March of 2006.
