NetBurner has enhanced its network development kit by adding an embedded Flash file system.

NetBurner has enhanced its network development kit by adding an embedded Flash file system.

This FAT12/16/32 Flash file system gives developers the flexibility to store and exchange large amounts of data through onboard Flash chips (power fail safe), SD Flash cards, CompactFlash cards (CFC), and/or MMC Cards.

Additional features include bad block management and wear levelling "The NetBurner Flash file system gives designers the ability to reduce product cost by allowing them to scale memory to fit their exact requirements".

"This file system also expands an embedded product's ability to exchange, images, video, audio, and to download files over a network", said Tim Shannon, Director of Sales of NetBurner.

"By integrating the file system into the standard NetBurner software package, our customers can begin writing applications using this file system the day they receive a development kit".

NetBurner provides a standard API, complete C-based source code, drivers, and ample examples to get started.

In one provided example, a memory card from a digital camera can simply be plugged into a NetBurner device and the images and video can be accessed via a web browser or over FTP.

The Flash file system has been tightly integrated into the standard NetBurner network development kit at no additional cost.

Each kit includes a complete version of the NetBurner software package including a full suite of network development and deployment applications.

The NetBurner NNDK continues to lead the industry with the most innovative and comprehensive suite of software for editing, compiling, linking, and loading applications onto NetBurner embedded network hardware; fuelling the creation of cutting edge network aware products; and now storing and managing the large amounts of digital content they gather out of the box.

The complete NetBurner Network Development Kit retails for $499.00.
