NewLogic Bluetooth BOOST for GigaWaveTech

NewLogic and GigaWaveTech have signed an agreement to integrate the BOOST Bluetooth software protocol stack from NewLogic into the software product and design service portfolio of GigaWaveTech.

NewLogic and GigaWaveTech have signed an agreement to integrate the BOOST Bluetooth software protocol stack from NewLogic into the software product and design service portfolio of GigaWaveTech.

The BOOST Software will be part of the Bluetooth solution GigaWaveTech offers, which ranges from RF expertise to software and production test expertise.

GigaWaveTech will also distribute and technically support the BOOST Software in Asia Pacific.

"The services offered by GigaWaveTech will enable designers and manufacturers in various Asia Pacific industries to implement Bluetooth functionality into their systems", said Michael Soeding, Managing Director of GigaWaveTech.

"Bluetooth is considered a standard that will have an impact beyond the communication industry, into products like white goods, computer peripherals etc".

The BOOST Software protocol stack is one of three Bluetooth IP products from NewLogic, a leading innovator in the field of intellectual property (IP) for wireless technologies.

Other products in the BOOST IP family include a Bluetooth baseband processor core and a Bluetooth radio transceiver core.

These IP elements, when combined with a suitable microcontroller core, permit the implementation of a single chip Bluetooth solution using industry standard CMOS process technologies.

"Our BOOST IP products enable designers to integrate Bluetooth functionality into their ASIC and ASSP based products with a minimum of fuss or risk", said Hans-Peter Metzler, President and CEO of NewLogic.

The lower level protocol stack, together with the baseband processor has been independently qualified by 7layers, a leading Bluetooth Qualification Body.
