Bluetooth baseband processor available on FPGA
NewLogic today announced the immediate availability of its Boost Lite Bluetooth baseband processor core for use in Xilinx Virtex-II and Virtex-E FPGAs.
NewLogic's Boost IP family includes a Bluetooth baseband processor, a full software protocol stack and a CMOS radio.
These IP elements, when combined with a suitable microcontroller core, permit the implementation of a single-chip Bluetooth solution using industry standard CMOS process technologies.
These cores provide the building blocks for system-on-a-chip designs and help bring customers' end products to market faster.
"An integrated Bluetooth radio transceiver using CMOS process technology is the key to providing low cost single chip Bluetooth solutions", said Hsu Hsi-Yuan, Vice President at Acer Labs in Taiwan.
"NewLogic's Boost Radio offers excellent performance without the need to use expensive BiCMOS or SiGe process technologies", he added.
"We are proud to be able to add Acer Labs to our growing list of customers", said Hans-Peter Metzler, president and CEO of NewLogic.
"The fact that Acer Labs is adding Bluetooth technology to its product portfolio will accelerate the adoption of the Bluetooth standard worldwide".
