Companies from all around the world are to exhibit at the 31st European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communications in Glasgow later this year.

Companies from all around the world are to exhibit at the 31st European Conference and Exhibition on Optical Communications (ECOC), the world's second largest conference and exhibition in its field, in Glasgow later this year.

Exhibitors from across four continents have already signed up for the exhibition with countries such as Estonia represented for the first time, while the conference is also reflecting a significant upturn with nearly 900 papers approved for delivery during the event.

"The breadth of turnout expected this year underlines the fact that ECOC is among the world's most important exhibitions in this industry", said Simon Kears, Nexus Media Communications Marketing Manager.

"With exhibitors already registered from four continents and more than three hundred exhibitors anticipated in total, exhibitors and visitors will be able to network with some of the most influential manufacturers, suppliers and service providers of the latest and future optical communications components, products, systems and services".

"The exhibition and conference are both showing encouraging growth, as shown by the papers being submitted - covering subjects right across the technology space".

"At this stage it looks likely that the conference itself will see record levels of involvement".

New to the event this year will be workshops and tutorials on the latest technology, and an online press office, to provide facilities for the increasing global media interest in ECOC.

This year's event is being staged between 25th and 29th September at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC), the UK's largest integrated exhibition and conference centre.
