Long-life claims for aluminium electrolytics

A NIC Components Europe product story

A new series of miniature aluminium electrolytic capacitors combines ultralow impedance with long life and low temperature stability.

The NRSG series from NIC Components Europe combines ultralow impedance with long life and low temperature stability.

The miniature aluminium electrolytic capacitors are supplied in a radial leaded, polarised package.

The low ESR characteristics of the devices makes them ideal for low voltage, high current, power conversion and regulation applications.

The NRSG series is available with capacitance values that range from 22 to 6800uF and voltage ratings of between 6.3 and 50V DC.

Operating temperature range is -40 to +105C.

With case sizes as small as 5 x 11mm (for the 22uF, 50V device) the NRSG series can be easily designed into densely populated circuit boards.

A life expectancy, depending on part number, of between 2000 and 4000h at 105C allows parts from the range to cope well with the high ambient temperatures that are common in many of the latest designs.

At the other end of the operating temperature range NRSG parts demonstrate excellent stability with an impedance ratio of two quoted for -20 to +20C at 120Hz.
