Driver links noncompliant kit into manufacturing
A CAMX IPC-2501 compliant Generic XML Driver (GXML) for the eX-Mission Solution Suite PeaceMaker Module improves the information flow of electronics manufacturing.
Optimation announces the release of its CAMX IPC-2501 compliant Generic XML Driver (GXML) for the eX-Mission Solution Suite PeaceMaker Module - to improve the information flow of electronics manufacturing.
The IPC-2501 Standard has been introduced to increase overall plant productivity by introducing a standard, efficient data messaging framework for shop floor to enterprise communication.
The IPC-2501 standard for web-based XML data exchange specifies the governing semantics and an XML based syntax for shop floor communication between electronic assembly equipment and associated software applications - the "plug and play" factory.
The GXML driver is fully compliant with the IPC-2501 standard and provides a low cost solution to deliver mission critical data such as cycle times, machine downtime, supply chain and product genealogy and traceability information from the shop floor directly to the enterprise system, while providing a path to preserve the asset value of existing nonCAMX enabled equipment in newly implemented CAMX production lines.
PeaceMaker is the ideal mechanism to introduce recent non-CAMX-enabled SMT, AOI, printing, soldering and assembly machines etc into a fully compliant CAMX framework such as the eX-Mission Solution Suite at an extremely low cost per client connection.
The PeaceMaker GXML function currently supports IPC 2501, 2541, 2546, 2551 and 2556 XML messaging schemas as well as a "custom" format option for web-based exchange of XML data.
The driver is supported by a message development editor to facilitate rapid XML message creation and manipulation.
Plant personnel with little knowledge of TCP/IP and XML are able to set up XML message exchange between a simple device such as a barcode scanner and a CAMX message broker or simple server application with relative ease.
Whereas PeaceMaker can provide a cost effective means of introducing the most primitive device into a CAMX network, subject to the machine, PeaceMaker can also be configured to provide a SECS/GEM to CAMX conversion, addressing machines and processes at the more sophisticated end of the legacy system spectrum.
A further increase in the value proposition can be realised by Users wishing to take advantage of PeaceMaker's inherent comprehensive machine control capabilities, thus combining both CAMX interface and control functions in one device.
eX-Mission Solution Suite delivers complete CAMX infrastructure solutions for the printed circuit board and electronics assembly industries.
