Minebea has a new switch-mode power supply designed to provide 2500W of output power into a 48V telecomms system.

It is a single-phase rectifier with active PFC and is intended to be used with a battery in an uninterruptible DC power system.

A 19in shelf will hold six rectifiers.

Customers can parallel up to three shelves to meet the higher power demands.

The power supply is part of a redundant system where the system keeps on running when one rectifier is failing.

Hot swapping and active current sharing of modules is provided.

Part of the complete system is a control and supervisory unit designed to control up to 18 parallel operating rectifier modules and corresponding batteries.

It can be operated in 48 and 24V systems.

The control unit is 1U high and fits into a standard 19in rack.

The controller monitors the entire system and allows remote control.

An alarm history over the last 100 alarms is kept within the system to allow easy maintenance.
