NMB Minebea added an intelligent 220mm unit to its comprehensive range of radial blowers, which includes devices from 190 to 280mm diameter The new blower is ideal for heat exchanger systems and cabinet cooling

All sizes of blowers are available with standard 24 and 48V DC ratings, all driven by the same generic motor design with a capability to operate from a wide voltage range.

The 220R071 delivers up to 1000m3/h in free air from a compact package just 71mm deep.

The NMB blower range features a unique brushless DC motor that mechanically protects the drive electronics, eradicating the need to encapsulate PCBs, typically situated close to motor windings and subject to moisture and dust ingress with other manufacturers products.

This innovative NMB feature offers resistance to adverse environmental conditions and above all, it allows use of the same part for both internal and external sections of the cooling circuit.

This not only simplifies logistics, but also offers a price reduction, as no encapsulating is necessary.

The NMB product features a microprocessor-based drive that allows rapid prototyping of blowers for individual customer applications, ensuring that the customers specified speed demand profile is matched to the application.

This feature also permits the use of closed loop speed control.

NMB blowers also include options for alarm and fan fail signals, together with standard speed control by PWM or voltage control.

Motor protection features include overload, locked rotor and low-speed sensing.
