OFMC 2005, Europe's leading conference for measurement for optical fibres and optoelectronics, will be held at the National Physical Laboratory from 21st to 23rd September 2005 Optical technology is being applied in a huge range of industries from automotive engineering to aerospace, to medicine and biology

The increasing role of fibre optics and optoelectronics in industry presents both opportunities and problems, which need to be solved.

OFMC brings together science, technology, metrology and industry optical specialists to discuss issues and developments in the measurement of applied optical technologies.

Topics include: quantum cryptography, developments in biophotonics and medicine, photonics in defence and security, fibre to the home, vertical to commoditisation - measuring performance across networks using components from multiple vendors.

There will be ample opportunities to network with delegates from a broad cross-section of industry and academia, from the UK and abroad, all with a common interest in further advancing fibre technologies.
