POL regulator modules include all the circuit components encapsulated in such a tiny size that they resemble a surface mount IC.
Gennum's GS1524 is a high-speed bipolar device used to restore signals received over 75W coaxial cable at up to 1.5Gbit/s.
The device supports both SMPTE 292M and SMPTE 259M, and is optimised for performance at 270Mbit/s and 1.5Gbit/s.
Featuring DC restoration to compensate for the DC content of SMPTE pathological test patterns, the GS1524 incorporates a cable length indicator that provides a linear indication of the amount of cable being equalised.
Both automatic cable equalisation and manual bypass are included.
The device is packaged in a space saving 16-lead SOIC format.
The GS1528 is a high speed bipolar IC used to drive one or two 75W coaxial cables at datarates up to 1.485Gbit/s.
Two selectable slew rates are provided in order to achieve compliance to SMPTE 259M/344M/292M.
The device accepts an LVPECL level differential input that may be AC coupled.
Simplifying design and manufacture, external biasing resistors at the inputs are not required.
Packaging for the GS1528 is standard 8-pin SOIC format.
Features common to the versatile GS1524 and GS1528 devices are their use of a single 3.3V supply, an operating temperature range of 0 to 70C and their ability to interface seamlessly with other Gennum HD-LINXOll family products.
DT Electronics is able to provide the parts ex-stock, and with its experienced in-house design capability provide full backup and support for new enquiries, designs and projects.
