Papst's 414JHH fan offers a cooling solution for low profile cabinet applications.

Papst's 414JHH fan offers a cooling solution for low profile cabinet applications.

Measuring just 40 x 40 x 25mm, the diminutive but powerful fan is particularly suited to 1U rack mount, high pressure applications as found in the communications and broadcasting industries.

The fan uses field proven technology from Papst's successful 600 series fans, accommodated into a smaller form factor.

The result is a 40mm fan whose structure is even sturdier and hence its structural noise is considerably reduced.

As the fan's depth has been increased from 20 to 25mm, its structure is more rigid.

Further, the fan's smaller diameter means shorter struts, so there are less lower frequency resonances stemming from revolution of the rotor and blade.

Additionally a new design of shaft mounting allows for greater heat dissipation due to the shaft now being mounted via cast-in alloy as opposed to plastic.

The 414JHH can deliver 17m3/h at 50Pa and up to 10m3/h at over 75Pa pressure.

Operating from a supply of 24V at 153mA, the unit has a nominal speed of 13,200rev/min, and showing versatility is able to operate over a temperature range of -20 to +60C.

The fan has reverse-voltage protection and its environmental protection is to IP20.

Offering high life expectancy due to high-quality ball-bearing construction, the 414JHH is expected to find favour in applications throughout the communications and broadcasting industries where demanding, low stack height, rack mounted products are required.

DT Electronics is able to supply the 414JHH from stock, together with full engineering and design support.
