DT Electronics has won Atmel's Northern European design distributor of the year award for 2003.

DT Electronics has won Atmel's Northern European design distributor of the year award for 2003 The Coventry-based distributor ended the year the clear winner, some 29% ahead of its nearest rival in a scoring system based on the total number of design wins, their value, and the Atmel product concerned

DT Electronics was 37% ahead of the nearest broadline distributor.

The distributor's Managing Director, Tony Frere, was delighted with the outcome: "This is a real tribute to the efforts of the whole team but particularly our sales and applications engineering people.

We've beaten decisively much larger, established international distributors to demonstrate just how effective a small, very technical and focused team can be for design-in activity.

A real commitment to training underlies much of this success and we need to thank Atmel for their contribution to this.

It's a partnership that is really delivering results".

Atmel's Field Sales Engineer with responsibility for distribution, Steve Diaper, said: "DT Electronics is our most recently appointed distributor but they hit the ground running and it is an outstanding achievement to win this award in their first year as part of the network.

We're confident that they will continue to make a major contribution to designing in Atmel products in the UK".
