Based in the Simi Valley, California, N2Power is part of Qualstar, a publicly traded manufacturer of automated tape libraries for data storage.
N2Power has developed a patented technology that enables more compact power supplies to be produced without compromising reliability, performance or efficiency.
The company's 160W model has a power density of 8.5W/in3, compared with typical figures of 3 to 5W/in3 for rival products.
Commenting on the agreement, DT's Managing Director, Tony Frere, said: "Whilst the product line from N2Power is limited today, the size, efficiency and performance of their AC/DC switchers is unequalled by anything else we've seen.
In particular, packing up to 160W capability in a power supply that fits into a 1U rack will be of tremendous interest to our broadcast and telecom customers, as well as having appeal in the wider industrial market".
N2Power's Director of Sales, Randy Johnson, added: "Our products are not everyday commodities; they offer clear technical differentiation from the competition and we needed a technically led distributor that can design them in and explain their advantages fully.
DT Electronics is one of the few distributors in the UK that focuses their efforts on design-in work and they clearly demonstrate this ability with a competent and experienced engineering team.
We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership".
DT Electronics will initially stock the N2Power 125 and 160W power supplies.
