N2 Power's XL250 is claimed as the world's smallest 250W AC/DC power supply with a footprint of 3 x 6 or 3 x 7in and a height of 1.5in.

Available exclusively from DT Electronics, N2 Power's XL250 is the world's smallest 250W AC/DC power supply with a footprint of 3 x 6 or 3 x 7in and a height of 1.5in - less than 1U The open-frame switcher has a power density of up to 9.25W/in3

and is up to 88% efficient.

It has a universal AC input and a choice of five single outputs between 5 and 48V DC as well as multi-output variants.

Other features include remote on/off, remote sense, built in ORing diodes for parallel connection in N+1 power architectures, and active power factor correction.

A major feature is the low inrush current rating, which at 12A at 240V AC is the lowest in the industry - an important factor in current share applications.

Auxiliary outputs of 10W, 5V standby and 12V 2.5A are standard on all single-output units, as well as being part of the multi-output configuration.

The power supply will operate without a load and will run at up to 150W output at 50C with convection cooling or at full rated power with only 283 litre/min forced-air cooling.

Under- and overshoot are limited to less than 10% of nominal output voltage at switch-on and hold-up time is at least 22ms.

The power supply delivers full output from -25 to +50C ambient, derating at 2.5%/C between 50 and 70C.

The XL250 has a calculated MTBF of greater than 200kh and leakage current below 0.75mA.

It has integral overvoltage, overpower, overtemperature and short-circuit protection.

The unit has full agency approvals with respect to EMC and safety.

Custom configurations are also available, depending on the project requirements.

Prices start at approximately GBP 75 each for 100 piece quantities.
