Technical guide aids microcontroller selection
DT Electronics has produced a technical guide to microcontroller selection entitled "Microcontrollers: options and trends in today's applications".
DT Electronics has produced a technical guide to microcontroller selection entitled "Microcontrollers: options and trends in today's applications".
The 4-page document summarises the main criteria for choice.
It considers factors ranging from the performance of devices through to on-chip peripherals and high-level language programming.
The guide also discusses issues such as the portability of applications, the tradeoffs in choosing 4, 8, 16 or 32bit architectures, and the availability of application-specific support.
Referencing devices from manufacturers such as Oki and Atmel, the microcontroller technical guide provides a useful overview of recent trends in the design and application of these devices.
The guide can be downloaded from the DT Electronics website.
