EMCUK 2007 will feature an international two-day five-session conference for design engineers who are required to meet high frequency EMC compliance requirements.

An international two-day five-session conference will prove a major attraction for design engineers of electronic products to be used in all sectors - consumer, medical, industrial, military, transport, telecomms - who are required to meet high frequency EMC compliance requirements Running as an integral part of EMCUK 07, the UK's only EMC event, the conference will feature international speakers drawn from governmental and regulatory organisations, as well as leading industry figures and suppliers

Session 1 will be a full one day training course entitled: "Electronics fundamentals for good EMC".

Delegates will hear from two of the most respected authorities in the field, Keith Armstrong of Cherry Clough Consultants and Tim Williams of Elmac Services.

Mechanical, PCB, interface and circuit design strategies will all be covered.

After attending this course, delegates will be able to review all aspects of their designs - mechanical drawings, PCB layouts and circuit schematics - in confidence, to check adherence to principles of minimum disturbance emissions and maximum interference immunity.

Running concurrently on day one, Session 2 focuses on the automotive sector.

Entitled "Navigating automotive compliance", this stream will be chaired by Martin O'Hara of the Automotive EMC Network, and include presentations from representatives from Ford and MIRA.

Day two will see sessions covering: "Defence and avionics"; "EMC regulations and standards"; "EMC in railways"; and "EMC measurements and design principles".

QinetiQ, BAE Systems, TUV and ERA provide expert speakers during the defence and avionics programme.

Industry veterans Dave Imeson, Compliance Europe and Chris Marshman, York EMC Services will discuss EMC regulations and standards, before chairing a review on EMC measurements and design principles for the rail industry.

In the final session, Ken Webb of TUV Product Services will chair a review of "EMC measurements and design principles", covering: crosstalk and the effect of circuit impedance; interference emission from TV receivers in theory and practice; co-simulation of pcb and environment for improving electromagnetic compatibility; and the use of time domain methods for CISPR16 compliant EMI measurements.

Now in its fourth successful year, EMCUK will be held, as in previous years, at the Newbury Racecourse Event and Conference Centre on 16th and 17th October 2007.
