The newest release of the NewMonics PERC Java virtual machine (JVM) will support Accelerated Technology's popular Nucleus real-time operating system.
Java virtual machine aims for carrier control
NewMonics has developed the first Java virtual machine specifically for use in the product development life cycle of the management and control plane functions of carrier-class products.
PERC continues to gain widening acceptance within network infrastructure, telematics and industrial automation fields.
Further details of the agreement are not subject to disclosure.
PERC is a JDK 1.3-compatible VM built expressly for demanding embedded systems and known for its robustness and reliability.
PERC provides deterministic and real-time capabilities that make it particularly well suited for Aonix customers, comprising manufacturers of hard real-time systems, safety-critical systems and soft real-time networked applications.
The PERC VM provides ahead-of-time and just-in-time compilation, remote debugging and profiling support that have helped it earn a strong following among industry leaders such as Nortel Networks, Intel, Xata/Qualcomm and Parker Hannifin.
"We're excited about the doors that this agreement will open for PERC in more traditional embedded areas", says Tim Tumilty, NewMonics Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
"We view this partnership as a natural fit for both companies".
"PERC is superbly qualified to complement the other products and services we offer", says Greg Gicca, Senior Director of Aonix Product Marketing.
"We expect it will establish itself quickly in the markets we serve.
These classically include hard real-time embedded and high-integrity software systems".
