The OCT9600 Series of echo cancellation and voice quality enhancement (VQE) modules offers a range of densities from 256 to 4032 channels.

These modules are powered by Octasic's OCT6100 echo cancellation chips, which use a unique echo cancellation algorithm to deliver unparalleled noise matching capabilities and substantially improve voice quality.

With advanced functions such as in-path tandem free operation (TFO), the OCT9600 is a compatible replacement for existing echo cancellation solutions, and offers increased cost savings, lower power consumption, and reduced time to market.

"Several of our customers were using existing echo cancellation modules and had an immediate need for greater capacity and cost reduction in their existing form factor and connector design, which their current vendor could not offer", said Michel Laurence, CEO, Octasic.

"Offering the OCT9600 modules seemed a natural extension of our design assistance and customer support services, and allowed us to deliver our unique technology via an easily integrated, low cost modular solution for echo cancellation and voice quality".

The OCT9600 modules address the needs of a variety of network equipment providers within the wireless, VoP, and TDM segments of the telecommunications industry.

All models of the OCT9600 Series are CMC form factor compliant and are available with PTMC or industry de-facto standard pinouts in densities ranging from 256 to 4032 channels with a 128ms echo tail supported on all channels.

Advanced features include ITU G.169 automatic level control, automatic noise reduction, integrated debugging and monitoring, extensive in-band signalling tone detection, audio conferencing, announcement storage and playback, and in-path tandem free operation (TFO) capabilities.

The OCT9600 modules are available in channel densities of 256, 512, 672, 1344, 2016 and 4032 with prices as low as US $1.18 per channel in volume quantities.

For example, with a density of 512 channels, the OCT9611 module is available now and is priced at US $800 in volume quantities.
