Multipurpose modular connectors
A new 60-page catalogue covering the ODU-MAC connector system is available from ODU.
The connectors can be tailored to suit many applications and can transmit signal, power, light and compressed air, non-magnetic contacts being an option if required.
The concept is based around a variety of customisable frames, insulation bodies with numerous insert patterns, and removable contacts.
Each assembly can include any combination of the various ODU contact types and has been developed with heavy-duty applications in mind where up to 100,000 mating cycles can be expected.
Modules can be arranged in different patterns in the frame according to the application.
Unit spacing is in 2.54mm multiples and guide pins prevent misconnection while providing easy alignment for accurate mating.
DIN housings are also offered, and a special locking spindle system has been developed for applications with high numbers of connects and disconnects.
