Price cuts on soldering, desoldering and
rework

OK International's long established MX-500 soldering, desoldering and rework system is now included in the company's lead-free initiative.

OK International's long established MX-500 soldering, desoldering and rework system is now included in the company's lead-free initiative, designed to assist customers with more affordable products in the run up to lead-free production Three MX-500 series products are now available at significantly reduced costs (in Europe only)

They are: the MX-500S-21 soldering/rework system (reduced from GBP 495.00/Eur 750.00 to GBP 320.00/Eur 450.00); the MX-500TS-21 rework/talon system (reduced from GBP 739.00/Eur 1120.00 to GBP 565.00/Eur 810.00); and the MX-500DS-21 desoldering/rework system (reduced from GBP 775.00/Eur 1170.00 to GBP 618.00/Eur 885.00).

The versatile MX-500 Series is capable of handling SMT and through-hole applications with one power supply and offers an automatic shutoff to maximise tip cartridge life.

There are two switchable outputs that can be adapted to suit the operator's exact needs, with an option of a soldering iron, talon tweezers or desolder gun.

As with all OK International soldering and rework equipment, the MX-500 Series is ergonomically designed to improve process control, precision and performance.

The MX-500 Series incorporates Metcal SmartHeat technology, originally developed to ensure consistent soldering iron tip temperature under a wide variety of thermal loads.

In meeting this objective, Metcal also future-proofed its soldering irons to be perfectly suited to lead-free soldering, without need of any modification.

Metcal SmartHeat soldering iron technology eliminates major assembly problems, such as excessive overheating damage to components and delamination or scorching of substrates.

It approaches manual soldering in a totally different way from conventional irons where the amount of power supplied to the soldering tip remains constant and the tip temperature can vary enormously.

With Metcal SmartHeat it is the tip temperature that is kept constant and not the power supplied to it, as a result, the burden of maintaining the correct tip temperature is totally removed from the operator as the power varies automatically. Request a free brochure from OK International ...
