Alliance aims for VoIP solutions

Through its wide marketing activities, Oki will provide AudioCodes with the specific needs of Japanese service providers and features unique to the Japanese market.
AudioCodes will integrate these requirements into its VoIP modules and customise them for Oki's new version of CenterStage MediaGateway KT5000, its most advanced carrier-grade IP gateway, which excels in reliability and supports various interfaces with domestic PSTN features in Japan.
KT5000 provides functions to connect the existing PSTN and the IP network.
It is a key component of Oki's carrier-grade multimedia communication server system, the CenterStage, which enables service providers to offer various services including voice, data and motion pictures in IP environments.
By combining AudioCodes' module with Oki's gateway, Japanese service providers will have access to VoIP and other solutions that meet their requirements with lower cost and higher voice quality.
The Oki's CenterStage MediaGateway KT5000, based on the strategic alliance between Oki and AudioCodes, will become available in August 2002.
Oki will independently market the VoIP solutions mainly to Japanese carriers.
