Core trio boosts SoC platform
Oki Electric has enhanced its uPLAT series of integrated platforms, which lower development times of SoC LSIs, with the introduction of three core products.
The third platform is the soft IP uPLAT-946, also in Bronze IP status.
"Now that we have joined the Gold IP programme, Oki and UMC customers can easily use uPLAT, an IP with a long, successful track record, to develop their system LSIs", said Akira Kamo, President of the Silicon Solutions Company at Oki Electric.
"By adding circuits and IPs to the platform, customers can develop customised system LSIs in a short period of time to take advantage of UMC's state of the art process and manufacturing capabilities".
The certification provides viable solutions to customers who desire a performance improvement from 0.18um but may not yet be ready to migrate to 0.13um.
By providing a development environment to a wide range of customers, Oki will accelerate the implementation of system LSIs based on uPLAT, and has set a sales target of 34 billion yen for uPLAT-based system LSIs in the fiscal year ending March 2007.
