Oki has developed a new speech codec IC designed to provide the necessary analogue front end for VoIP.

Oki has developed a new speech codec IC designed to provide the necessary analogue front end for VoIP The ML7204-001 allows the selection of G.729.A/G711 formats and supports the PLC (packet loss concealment) function to enable voice quality improvement

The ML7204-001 supports DMA and frame transfer enabling multichannel support.

With a line and acoustic echo canceller that handles 32ms delay, FSK detection/generation and DTMF detection/generation functions, the ML7204-001 is an ideal IC for adding VoIP capability to terminal adapters, routers and business phones.

In addition to the conventional analogue terminal side interface, a PCM interface is selectable, allowing the upgrade of current analogue designs.

The product is available in two different package options: 64-pin plastic QFP and 100-pin plastic TQFP.
