The Lead-Free Interactive Forum is a purpose-built area providing an ideal opportunity for engineers to gain hands-on experience with all aspects of lead-free materials and production equipment.
Delegates will also learn about the most current process experience on soldering, inspection, component requirements, printed board design and specification and product reliability.
They will be able to see and use production equipment using lead-free alternative alloys featuring surface mount and through-hole terminations.
Delegates can bring board design and process issues to this unique interactive forum for discussion by experts.
Desktop printed circuit board inspection is set for a revolution with the official European launch of the VT-RNS-pt Hi-Performance at the show.
Designed for off-line inspection, the VT-RNS-pt is an ideal solution for smaller manufacturers running low volume or prototyping assembly lines.
The inspection algorithms used in the VT-RNS-pt Hi-Performance are identical to the fully automated in-line machine, the VT-RNS.
The system uses the full, three colour highlight system and the same 3-CCD camera as its bigger brother, the VT-RNS, allowing it to capture three times the data resulting in highly robust inspection results.
Other features include colour enhancing capability, auto-teaching modes, integrated graphical user-interface and logic customisation.
Omron's VT-RNS range will also be on show.
The VT-RNS is a powerful fully-automated, in-line inspection solution which meets the challenging demands of today's electronic production.
Available in multiple configurations such as post-print, post-placement and post-reflow, the VT-RNS builds on the success of its highly acclaimed predecessor the VT-WIN II.
Omron's patented colour highlight system is now standard across the entire product range and uses a light emitting diode (LED) configuration in three colours to provide the operator with three dimensional information from a two dimensional image.
The VT-RNS range also features a high-performance lens and 3-CCD colour camera to deliver superior imaging and inspection performance with resolutions down to 10um.
