High efficiency for compact power supplies
Omron has extended its range of power supplies with the launch of the S8PE - a powerful, high efficiency, new line of 3-phase power supplies designed for industrial applications.
Omron has been selected as one of only two global relay suppliers to auto electronics specialists TRW, and as such has been appointed as a Designated Strategic Supplier.
Omron relays are approved by VW for use in TRW hazard warning switches for its Golf and Passat models.
Siemens VDO Automotive, has also recently granted Omron approved supplier status for its range of Electronic Control Unit (ECU) products.
Ian Brown, Product Manager at Omron explains: "We've created innovative and dependable products - now we are ramping up production capability to meet extensive global demand.
This initial investment is just the start of a projected $10million boost in our facilities".
Spearheading Omron's growth in this successful marketplace are innovative relays designed specifically for automotive applications.
For example, the G8N and G8ND printed-circuit-board relays are the smallest devices of their type, meeting the demanding performance and space-saving requirements of in-vehicle designs.
The G8N is the world's smallest motor load relay, featuring a motor lock load capacity of 25A, yet occupying as little as 14 x 7.2mm of board area and 13.5mm height.
G8ND series are high-performance twin PCB relays, again offering 25A current rating, this time in a twin H-bridge contact configuration.
These devices have an industry-leading 14 x 13.6mm footprint and 14mm maximum height.
Both are fully sealed units, qualified for an electrical life of 100,000 operations across the -40 to +85C temperature range.
Applications include power windows, seat adjustment, door locking and sunroof controls.
