DIN rail supplies gain UPS option

High efficiency for compact power supplies
Omron has extended its range of power supplies with the launch of the S8PE - a powerful, high efficiency, new line of 3-phase power supplies designed for industrial applications.
Omron's S8TS battery backup blocks have switch-selectable output ratings of 3.7 or 8A and, like the other modules in the S8TS power supply range, are offered with a five-year warranty, demonstrating Omron's total confidence in their performance and reliability.
The new battery backup blocks complement the existing extensive range of S8TS switch-mode power supply modules.
These include 24V DC modules with an output rating of 2.5A, which can be used alone, or can be plugged together to produce supplies with ratings of 5, 7.5 or 10A, with an optional fifth 2.5A module to provide module failure redundancy.
This modular design allows users to uprate existing supplies easily by adding an extra module, or even, with the new backup module, to convert an existing standard supply into one which is protected against mains failures.
Omron's innovative S8TS range also includes modules with outputs of 12V DC and 5V DC.
All modules in the range are suitable for operation from 50/60Hz AC supplies in the range 85 to 264V, without the need for adjustment or setting, allowing them to be used in any country of the world.
Housed in standard DIN-rail mounting enclosures just 43mm wide, S8TS modules allow the assembly of very compact power supplies which, with an anticipated operating life of at least 10 years under typical operating conditions, combine outstanding reliability with convenience and value for money.
