New group to target emerging markets
Omron Electronic Components Europe (OCB-EU) has established an Emerging Markets group to develop opportunities in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Commenting on the timing of the announcement, Blakeway said: "There are very attractive new markets opening right now, especially Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Middle East and South Africa.
Omron Components already has a presence in many of these countries.
The new Group provides focussed support for our existing customers, distributors and representatives in these regions, and a structure that allows us to add new resources as new customers and business opportunities open up".
Freek van Oekel brings to his position in Omron considerable design and sales experience with electromechanical components and including specifically building partnerships with local and international distribution.
His previous positions were at Cadence and Cirrus, where Global Account Management positions gave him insight into working with major OEMs worldwide.
Prior to this, he worked with Siemens, in a sales position in their electromechanical components business.
He started his career as a Design Engineer for Philips, where his projects involved designing in electromechanical components including Omron components.
Isabel van Doorn joins Omron from NEC Mitsubishi monitors division, where she had an internal sales role.
She also spent six years with Hewlett-Packard, in a technical support role for storage products.
She speaks five languages.
