A new low-cost sealed microswitch is ideal for wet and dusty area applications, where the mechanical demands on the switch are comparatively light By using a simpler construction, with a single leaf spring and rubber packing, Omron is able to offer the D2SW-P as a low cost alternative, priced at around half the cost of its established high performance sealed switch

It is footprint compatible with Omron's existing D2SW and SS switch ranges.

The new device is a high-quality watertight miniature snap-action switch that meets IP67 (IEC529) requirements.

Operating temperature range is -20 to +70C.

According to Omron, the new D2SW-P is ideal for the white goods, air conditioning, heating, automatic vending machine, and industrial applications.

Omron is offering the new switch with four different styles of actuator, pin plunger, hinge lever, simulated roller lever and hinge roller lever.

All four styles are offered with solder, quick connect or PCB terminals, or with lead wires.

The switch has an electrical life expectancy of 50,000 operations, and a mechanical life of 1 million operations.

For high switching frequency applications, Omron recommends the D2SW, with a mechanical life of 200,000 operations and an electrical life of 2 million operations.

To ensure good quality sealing, this switch features a monoblock construction, and has a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +85C.
