The new Omron G3VM-21GR allows precision measurement and high speed networking equipment to benefit from the reliability and quiet operation of optically coupled MOSFET relays.

With low on-resistance and an output capacitance-resistance product of just 5pF-ohm, the new Omron G3VM-21GR allows precision measurement and high speed networking equipment to benefit from the reliability and quiet operation of optically coupled MOSFET relays Available as a small outline, 4-pin SMD with 7.0 x 3.9 x 2.1mm footprint, the new relay combines fast switching with a high degree of miniaturisation

The G3VM-21GR is the latest addition to Omron's extensive G3VM range of solid-state relays.

The G3VM architecture features a dual MOSFET load circuit that minimises the external circuitry required to create a fully functional alternative to an electromechanical relay, and makes configuration for AC or DC loads transparent to the designer.

Special attributes of the G3VM-21GR include low leakage current of 1nA when the output relay is open.

Output ratings are 20V maximum load voltage and 160mA continuous output current, allowing a wide variety of loads to be driven directly.

The LED input is triggered by a current of 4mA, simplifying input drive circuitry.

The low on-resistance and CR product of the G3VM-21GR are particularly suitable for high frequency and measurement applications including semiconductor test equipment, ATE for telecomms and networking products, sensitive data loggers and telecommunications equipment including broadband systems for customer premises and central office applications.

Further communication and networking applications include subscriber line interfaces, multiplexers and routers, and network termination units including set top boxes.

Omron's G3VM series of MOSFET relays combine the best features of mechanical and solid-state relays, delivering long life with a high-speed response to effectively handle minute analogue signals with minimum current leakage.

The wide range of models in the series ensures that a suitable relay can be selected for virtually any application.
