Omron has added 0.3mm pitch FPC connectors to its XF2-series of cable-to-board connectors, allowing designers using fine pitch FPC to save time during assembly and ensure high reliability.

Omron has added 0.3mm pitch FPC connectors to its XF2-series of cable-to-board connectors, allowing designers using fine pitch FPC to benefit from the enhanced features of the XF2 that save time during assembly and ensure higher reliability in the end product.

Omron XF2B connectors are 0.3mm pitch FPC connectors featuring the enhanced XF2-series rotary slider, which is delivered in the open position to reduce the number of assembly operations and closes without the risk of moving the cable.

Further features of the XF2B include a bottom wall to eliminate exposure of the connector reverse side terminals, a four-sided FPC housing for fast and accurate cable insertion and enhanced retention, and double sided contacts allowing either the upper or lower surface of the FPC to be prepared.

XF2B connectors are available with 17 or 23 contacts, have a low onboard profile of 1.2mm, and are rated at 0.2A per contact.

The 0.3mm pitch of the XF2B matches fine-pitch FPC cables of 0.2mm gauge.
