Telecomms relays offer compact
compliance
New compact telecomms relays from Omron enable high density mounting by reducing the mounting area of the surface mount package by up to 56% compared with comparable devices.
New compact telecomms relays from Omron enable high density mounting by reducing the mounting area of the surface mount package by up to 56% compared with comparable devices By also meeting Telcordia specifications, the new relays are suitable for use in telecomms equipment such as central office switches and broadband routers, which must typically provide many channels of switching within a confined area

High efficiency for compact power supplies
Omron has extended its range of power supplies with the launch of the S8PE - a powerful, high efficiency, new line of 3-phase power supplies designed for industrial applications.
The footprint of the new Omron G6J-Y series measures 5.7 x 10.6mm, creating a slim device that also achieves a low profile of 9.0mm, allowing cards to be closely stacked in rack-mount systems.
The new relay has DPDT contacts and is available in single-side stable or energy-saving single-winding latching versions.
Single-winding latching operation saves up to 40% of the relay's overall power consumption.
Package options include surface mount with optional short or long terminals, or through-hole mounting.
The G6J-Y series includes coil ratings of 3, 4.5, 5, 12 and 24V DC in single-side stable versions, and up to 12V DC in single-winding latching versions.
Contacts have 100mohm maximum resistance, and are rated up to 1A at 30V DC and maximum switching voltage of 125V AC or 110V DC.
High mechanical life expectancy of 50 million operations combines with electrical longevity at rated load of 100,000 operations.
The relays will also withstand shocks up to 75g without malfunction, operating temperatures from -40 to + 85C, and up to 85% relative humidity.
The Telcordia specification calls for dielectric withstand voltage of 1500V AC and an impulse withstand voltage of 2500V for 2 x 10us.
Further approvals for the G6J-Y series, in addition to Telcordia, include FCC Part 68, UL60950 and CSA C22.2 No 60950.
