Omron has extended its switch-mode power supply range with a super-compact model that sets new benchmark standards in performance The S8VS Micro provides 100% performance, without any derating, right up to its maximum operating temperature

Available in 15 and 30W models, with a choice of 5, 12 or 24V DC outputs, the S8VS Micro is an ideal solution for customers who seek a suitable power supply for their downsized machines.

Although just 22.5mm wide, the space-saving S8VS Micro provides plenty in terms of performance.

Inside the unit are discrete components mounted on an innovative metal-frame circuit board that provide a higher power density per cubic centimetre than virtually any other power supply on the market (this applies to the 30W models).

Because there's very little heat dissipation, no conventional heatsinks are required.

The power supply can be mounted on a DIN-rail or mounted on a panel surface horizontally or vertically using a bracket, to help minimise panel space requirements.

The fact that this power supply conforms to conventional standards (VDE, CE, cULus) as well as to EMI Class B, IP20, UL Class 2 and Class I/Division 2 means that it can be used in equipment destined for anywhere in the world.

The S8VS Micro complements the existing S8VS range on the lower end, resulting in a complete range of basic and advanced power supplies from 15 to 240W.

The 60 to 240W models are also available with a display for output status indication and preventive maintenance purposes.
