Omron is extending its family of sealed switches by introducing a range of fully watertight reed switches offering OEMs a wide choice of actuator mechanisms The D2RW reed switches offer total protection against dust ingress and immersion to IP67 standards using an advanced internal construction that separates conductor and mechanical blocks

The circuit block, incorporating the internal reed mechanism, is entirely sealed in special resin, protecting it against immersion between 15cm and 1m.

There are four models in the series, providing a wide range of actuator options including pin plunger, hinge lever, hinge roller lever and simulated roller lever.

Their internal reed switch mechanism ensures high contact reliability within the micro load range.

All models are rated for a maximum switching voltage of 100V DC, switching current of 0.25A maximum and 10W contact capacity, and maximum electrical switching frequency is specified as 30 operations/minute.

Dimensions are compatible with Omron's complementary families of V-sized switches including the V-series basic, and D2V sealed basic switches.

Their footprint is 35.9 x 10.3mm and height just 15.9mm.

The new reed switches are specified for industrial operation at temperatures from -20 to +60C, and ambient humidity up to 95%.

They are guaranteed for 1 million operations.
