Omron is to highlight its popular family of electromechanical relays, switches and connectors, alongside new MEMS flow sensors, and innovative solutions for mobile phones, at Nepcon 2005 Omron's new range of MEMS-based airflow sensors are designed to detect clogged air intake filters and air velocity flows in office automation (OA) equipment, domestic air purifiers and coolers, and many other more conventional HVAC applications

The D6F-W01A1 and D6F-W04A1 airflow sensors incorporate a patent pending dust segregation system (DSS), helping to separate up to 93% of dry airborne particulates normally encountered in both domestic and commercial environments.

Inside each D6F-W is a high sensitive flow chip that helps maintain sensing performance by monitoring extremely accurately, very small to large mass flows of any noncorrosive gas regardless of temperature change.

Omron will also demonstrate an exciting new range of innovative components designed for use in mobile phones and other similar sised portable products.

Omron's B5E is an impressively compact, high brightness flashlight module for built-in camera flash function in cellphone, PDA and digital still camera applications.

The B5E optimises light power from a three-chip LED coupled with an ultrathin optical sheet, that together provides more than double the illuminance compared with a conventional LED design only, helping to reduce battery power consumption.

Omron's B5A is dubbed the world's thinnest, most durable and most effective, motor vibrator.

Using a brushless structure, the B5A has a life of over 1 million cycles for longer life performing "vibro alerts".

It also comes with a built-in driver IC eliminating the need for additional components for the drive circuit and saving space on the PCB.
